This event was more like a Carnival Cruise vacation--we were treated so well! This was one of the best weekends of my life. Thank you SO much everyone at Southern Eigths for organizing this. I can't say enough great about all of you. My pony and I definitely reached a new level with weekend.. literally. We cleared... a 3'9" steeplechase jump, or so I was told, I had my eyes closed. - Barbie Beckford

Your "Shortest Long Format" at Southern Eighths was the singular best event I've ever attended. I say this for multiple reasons: your facilities are world-class, your staff was both the most knowledgable as well as the friendliest and most supportive I've ever experienced, everything about your facility and this event was top-quality, and the focus on education made the whole event worthwhile regardless of scores. The Long Format totally INVIGORATED Henry and I! We're competing every other weekend now and he placed 1st in his division at Hickory Top last week! I think his success was largely because of the confidence he gained at Southern Eighths! - Briana Crotwell Timmerman, Ph. D. & Henry

Becky [Holder] really worked with every individual horse and rider combination, quickly identifying strengths and weaknesses - complimenting the former while working to improve the latter. This amazing facility has been designed by its owners to bring the long format back to its roots and give everyone a chance to experience it. - Jammie

It was awesome, as expected! The chance to run steeplechase until I really relaxed and trusted my mare was priceless. I've run two long formats, but on different horses, and this clinic was EXACTLY what this horse and I needed. - Jeannette

On top of the wonderul instruction, the facility is gorgeous and everyone involved was absolutely fabulous to deal with. As an adult ammy, I feel that both Southern Eighths and Classic Eventing are a breath of fresh air in the sport. - Aubrie

You've created opportunities for the adult amateur who does not have the paycheck to roll around to recognized events all the time and who is frustrated by the financial demands of qualifying for a recognized long format. We as a demographic are very often left out of the sport and its great to feel like someone out there with some resources sees us. The facility is drop-dead gorgeous [with] beautiful stabling. - Wildlifer
