Centrally located between Charlotte and Southern Pines in North Carolina and Columbia and Florence in South Carolina, Southern 8ths is truly in the “Heart of the Carolinas”.  Touching both Area II and III, its central location makes it a perfect place to spend the day or the weekend connecting with your horse and with friends.

From its outset, when it was just fields, woodlands and a dream, FEI course designer Tremaine Cooper has had a constant vision - to create a world class training venue where riders would have all the resources they need to increase their skills and their confidence.  A place where riders could not only work on their dressage and show jumping, but also work to understand their pace, learn how to jump at speed and maintain their balance over undulating terrain.  A place to make better riders and more confident horses!

With Tremaine’s vision and the feedback from Becky Holder, Rebecca Howard, Kim Severson and Heidi White and a lot of people, the vision is now reality.  In just a few years, Southern 8ths has grown to become the ultimate location for equestrian training with all that is needed to improve your riding skills:

• Turf Steeplechase tracks – One oval and one figure 8 with minute markers specifically designed to aid in working on riding at speed and perfecting your pace with real Steeplechase foam quarter rounds and Fornell brush jumps
• Several different Show Jumping settings to build confidence and organization designed by FEI show jumping designer Marc Donovan
• Gymnastic schooling area with caveletti and grids for tuning up the experienced horses and schooling the young ones

• Miles of groomed ‘Roads & Tracks’ trails for warming up and cooling down your horse
